Today we'll talk about a nice Canadian boy 25 years by the name of Tyrell Witherspoon... A native of the Canadian province of Manitoba, our friend Tyrell had the good fortune to be to count on the support form the beginning of a family he encouraged his artistic aspirations. It was our first ever flash mob and we were so excited, to be honest it was hard to keep that one a secret! A tremendous amount of work went into the flash mob and we really couldn't have done it without choreographer extraordinaire Tyrell Witherspoon and of course all the kids from Strathcona Elementary who practiced their little hearts out since November. Some of the kids told us it was the best day of their lives and we were so touched.

Imagine sitting down to chow down on tacos or sushi at the Pacific Centre food court, when you feel like you're suddenly sitting in the midst of a music video. That's what happened when a flash mob took over on January 25 during the lunch-hour crush. Choreographer Tyrell Witherspoon led dancers and 25 students from grades five and six at Strathcona Elementary School through a dance routine to Erika Jayne's "Party People (Ignite the World)".

On Thursday night at the Holiday Inn Aruba Pool Party six competitors (including my best friend Brian Webb) will be introduced as the take part in a swimsuit competition to begin three days of events to crown the new Mr Gay Canada at the Apres Ski on Saturday afternoon - also featuring a musical performance by Tyrell Witherspoon.

The CandyGram.ca video is shot with a unique format each year, always on a zero budget relying on the support of extremely generous, volunteers, donors and members of the community. All proceeds from CandyGram.ca go to support the work of A Loving Spoonful (alovingspoonful.org). Choreographed by Tyrell Witherspoon.

My new single is titled "Glow" and it tells my own personal story through the eyes of a young girl. I grew up in a small town and always had big city dreams. It was hard to want to dream big because I had a lot of people around me telling me it wasn't possible.

For a lot of people the holiday season is all about giving back to the community just like Vancouver singer Tyrell Witherspoon. With the release of his new single "Glow", Witherspoon is donating a portion of each sale in December to the Dr Peter AIDS Foundation.

Glow is the official third single from Tyrell Witherspoon. Tyrell tells the story of a girl who leaves her small town behind to pursue her dreams of making it big under the lights of the city; a story very close to Tyrell's heart. Proceeds from the first week of purchases of the single will be donated to the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation.

In support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, I have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the first week of sales to the Centre.

Since the release of his debut single in March, Tyrell Witherspoon has had an incredibly busy summer. He's produced an attention-grabbing video for the single "Letting Go," performed steadily throughout the summer, opened for the legendary Martha Wash, appeared at the 2011 North America Outgames Opening Ceremony, and shared the stage with diva Wynter Gordon as well as many other performers around Vancouver, BC. This busy schedule comes from his desire to entertain his audience as he tells his story.

The idiom "not just a pretty face" has never been more fitting than when applied to the multi talented Tyrell Witherspoon. Some of you may recognize him from CW's Hellcats or So You Think You Can Dance Canada; some of you may still be picking your jaws up off the floor.

It's hard to say where Tyrell Witherspoon's talents begin and where they end. The Killarney native took his love and passion for the performing arts to rainy Vancouver and has recently recorded and released his first CD.

Tyrell Witherspoon is a jack of many trades, a blogger for homorazzi.com, a dancer on the hit CW show Hellcats, an aspiring author and a musician. Hot on the release of his debut EP, Dance with Me, Tyrell emailed his heart for a Q&A with Blitz & Shitz.

Having shared the stage with artists such as Destineak, Wynter Gordon and the legendary Martha Wash, Tyrell Witherspoon is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. This former CW "Hellcats" dancer released his first single "Letting Go" in March of 2011. Shortly after, Tyrell rocketed into the Vancouver music scene. His music video for the track garnered him performances opening for the legendary, Martha Wash and gained him a coveted spot singing at the opening ceremonies for the 2011 North American Outgames. This summer during Vancouver's gay pride, Tyrell opened for dance floor diva Wynter Gordon.

Tyrell Witherspoon has been performing all his life, in fact he can't remember a time when he wasn't performing. He comes from a family of performers, his father was a musician and performer while mother was a renowned piano teacher. Developing and sharing his craft, first in Brandon then Winnipeg, and currently in Vancouver, Tyrell has a driven work ethic in pursuit of his entertainment dreams. His drive has resulted with work in theatre, choreography, onboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships, and appearances on CBC's Triple Sensation and CTV's So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

Last year, our very own Tyrell was working on CW's Hellcats in its first and only season. After the show wrapped up, besides writing for Homorazzi, Tyrell decided to do something that he has always wanted to do: Write, sing, and perform his own music. All of the music was self produced by him on this very laptop, which was a huge learning curve for him. After only a matter of months of hard work and several live performances, sharing the stage with the likes of Destineak, Wynter Gordon, and Martha Wash, Tyrell has now finished his first EP.

As some of you may know, I have been work on music for a while now and have released two singles, Letting Go and In Love and am currently working on my finishing my EP titled Dance With Me which should be out early this fall. I was fortunate enough to be able to showcase these singles (and some of my new material) in front of audiences at a few different places during the week.

How did a boy from a small town in Manitoba become a triple threat on the verge of stardom? For twenty-four year old, Tyrell Witherspoon the answer is hard work, a good support system and surrounding yourself with people who believe in you and are doing the same things as you. Last night, I was thoroughly entertained by "The True Heroines" in their live performance of "Flash Forward" A Comic Strip Cabaret at Guilt & Co. in Vancouver's historic Gastown. The True Heroines is a live cabaret show featuring sexy 50s housewives that sing and dance their way out of trouble - some of them are HSAs (Humans With Special Abilities). It's also a webseries.

Our very own Tyrell has just released his second single "In Love" accompanied by a steamy music video - which you'll see later in the post. A couple months ago, he released the music video for his first single "Letting Go". The music video took place at a house party and had a lot of dancing, which made sense for the upbeat track.

Growing up, Tyrell Witherspoon was an obvious over-achiever when it came to the arts. From classical violin to ballet to musical theatre and dance, Tyrell's talent soon became too large for his small Manitoba hometown and he cast his eyes to Winnipeg and the opportunities it offered. A while back, Tyrell released his first single, "Letting Go" on iTunes. Today, the music video for the song is finally here! If you've listened to the upbeat track, you'll know that it has a bit of a 90s retro feel to it, with some nostalgic references to mixed tapes and the likes. Well, the same feel translates into the video.

Last week, I gave you a little teaser of Tyrell's first single "Letting Go" and today the full version is officially available for download on iTunes for only $0.99. Tyrell explains, "It's about going through the hard times of a relationship and then realizing you were not right for that person. You look back on it and see that it wasn't always roses and it's just better to let it go." The upbeat track has a bit of a 90's throwback with references in the lyrics like: "If I'm a mixed tape, time to flip the side / And start it over / I'm on my own tonight."

It's common knowledge that there are lots of great singers in Hellcats. Aly Michalka and her sister AJ sing together as 78 Violet, Ashely Tisdale has been singing for years and is famously known as Sharpay from the High School Musical movies, and throughout the Hellcats first season, we've also heard amazing singing voices from both Sharon Leal and Robbie Jones. There is another voice we haven't heard yet on the show that belongs to another Hellcat. When Tyrell Witherspoon isn't cheering with the Hellcats or dancing in music videos, he spends time in the studio recording music he's written himself.

Dancing always involves great music. This time Tyrell Witherspoon isn't the one dancing he's the one singing. As a professional dancer on the hit TV show Hellcats, Tyrell rocks the mic with his first single Letting Go recorded at the Vault Studios in Vancouver, BC. This single reminds me of the great pop music of the 90's. From the classic synth leads to the pumping beats, Letting Go is a great tune if you're heading to work, on the treadmill or just enjoying your day.

As you probably already know, my boyfriend Tyrell, one of the writers on Homorazzi.com, is also a dancer. He's a cheerleader on the CW's Hellcats and you may have also seen him in a couple recent music videos (Elise Estrada "You're So Hollywood", These Kids Wear Crowns "Jumpstart", etc.). What you probably don't know is that he can sing and in his spare time he's been writing some songs as well. I know right, what spare time?

This week, I had the opportunity to travel to Winnipeg with artist Inez Jasper to perform at the Aboriginal People?s Choice Music Awards. I was so excited about this opportunity for a couple of reasons. I recently moved from Winnipeg to Vancouver and hadn?t been home since the end of June, so I was excited to get back and see some friends and go back to the studio I last taught at. The second reason I was so pumped for this gig was something I never imagined would happen. I used to go to concerts at the MTS Centre all the time (this being the venue for the awards show).

After a full day of cheer practice, Ashley Tisdale, Aly Michalka and Heather Hemmens all head back to their hotel for some rest on Sunday (July 18). The three girls have been practicing and filming for the first episodes of their debut season of Hellcats.
